Rebel Book Club has landed in New York – and we’re here to turn your reading habit into a non-fiction superpower.
Each month, we explore one powerful non-fiction title, chosen by our members, that helps us make sense of the world – and each other. Think big themes like money, mindset, tech, identity, and everything in between. Then we meet up to unpack it all over drinks, good vibes, and unforgettable conversations.
Whether you're a lifelong reader or non-fiction curious, this is your place to grow ideas, challenge your thinking, and connect with fellow New Yorkers who love learning as much as you do.
We gather in iconic spots across the city, always on the last Tuesday of the month. Expect bold books, buzzing rooms, and real talk – not small talk.

Gizem is a UX Research Manager and works on augmented reality glasses and human-computer interaction. She joined RBC to find a like-minded community of nonfiction lovers and get back into reading after having a baby.
When she is not reading, you can find her immersed in one of her bazillion hobbies like gardening, knitting and experimenting with fermenting or spending time with her family. She lives in Brooklyn and loves exploring NYC on foot.
Gizem’s nonfiction recommendations:
1. Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City, by Matthew Desmond
2. Just Mercy, by Bryan Stevenson
3. Far from the Tree, by Andrew Solomon
Dan is Senior Engineering Manager at Meta, and leads the teams building the System User Interfaces and User Interactions for Meta’s Wearables Devices. Dan joined RBC because he realized that reading had become a very solo activity for him, and he missed engaging in conversations about books the way he had around the Harkness Table during his high school years.
Dan lives in Brooklyn with his two pups, and loves to cook, play StarCraft 2, follow the NBA, watch outdoor survival videos, and drink (too much?) wine.
Dan's nonfiction recommendations:
1. How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie
2. Good to Great, by Jim Collins
3. Multiple Intelligences, by Howard Gardner

Every month members vote on a hotlist of 3 nonfiction books on a topic. We nudge you weekly to read, listen or watch & join the discussion.*
*You don't have to read a book every month with us.
You will be invited to our monthly in-person & digital events (not another zoom room). Plus rebel coffees, learning goals support & shared interest groups.
