London is where it all started, and remains our largest community over 100 books later.
Inspired by our monthly non-fiction reads, the RBC community has hosted hundreds of events and met thousands of open-minded, friendly, interesting people to explore big ideas and challenging conversations at fun venues.
Fuelled of course by the best indie drink and snack brands.
Our mix of part cocktail-party, part creative classroom is a recipe that works.
Find your non-fiction tribe at our book club events in locations across the city, always on the last Tuesday of the month.
From our communities going deep on a non-fiction theme to our mid-month brunch club, bonus meet-up events to spin-off book groups, there's always something happening in our original city.
What connects it all is our amazing community of curious minds. Making (some) sense of our overwhelming, distracting world matters more than ever; we're all on this learning journey together.
We know our members come for the books and stay for the people. Come to our next event and see for yourself.
Founder, entrepreneur and community-builder, Ben Keene launched Rebel Book Club in 2015 with his wingman Ben Saul-Garner.
Their journey began in Bali, driven by their shared frustration with "Tsundoku"—the accumulation of unread books. Since then, Ben has transformed his reading habits, now devouring 35-50 books annually, thanks to the rhythm, community, and accountability of RBC.
Most impactful RBC moment: "When people came back for the second month of RBC in greater numbers. We knew this could work. Fun, learning together is such a great use of a few hours a month. We've never looked back!"
Ben's top RBC library recommendations:
1) Solve for Happy - Mo Gawdat
2) Doughnut Economics - Kate Raworth
3) How to Change Your Mind - Michael Pollan
When he’s not revolutionising how we read non-fiction, Ben Saul-Garner hosts memorable gatherings including a series of five boutique festivals which have taken place across the Sahara Desert and Swedish Archipelago.
His love of adventure, travel and new experiences led to two solo castaway adventures on remote desert islands in Indonesia.
Ben's top non-fiction recommendations:
1) The 100 Year Life by Lynda Gratton and Andrew Scott
2) The Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday
3) The Creative Act by Rick Rubin
